Introduction and Features
A linking campaign is not a single-time effort. Searching and identifying quality link partners is an essential part of any successful web site promotion strategy. ALEGE does a wonderful job in making your site (or your network of sites) available to accept link exchange proposals and to provide you with a sophisticated control center to manage all your link management tasks.
Add Link Exchange Gold Edition plus Campaign Manager (ALEGE-CM) takes it one step further by adding a powerful campaign manager to the package. This campaign manager (CM) assists you in finding, identifying and soliciting quality link partners by providing a fully automated, total tracking solution that gives you the ability to track hundreds if not thousands of ongoing link exchange negotiations simultaneously, all from one easy-to-use point-and-click interface!
How does ALEGE-CM achieve this?
Firstly, CM helps you by pooling potential link partners. Powerful built-in functions allow you to import results from search engine queries.
These results are automatically analyzed and pre-formatted in a way that is designed to easily initiate, maintain and successfully complete link exchange negotiations.
You can manually fine tune the contact information and the link information that CM has found by analyzing each search result. Once you're happy with a number of potential link sites and the information you have about them, you can send off your customized link solicitations to multiple link partners with a single click from within the point-and-click interface! The CM software is fully integrated with ALEGE and will create temporary links to your potential link partner(s) on your site(s). These temporary links have a limited life-time (default is 72 hours) and will automatically expire if your link partner doesn't respond in time.
When your link partner receives your email, they get a unique username and password and a link where they can access their link on your system and edit the HTML if necessary in a link submission. This form is similar to the standard ALE link submission and contains a field where your link partner specifies the URL that contains your reciprocal link.
When your link partner has responded by making their link permanent, CM will send you an email that contains all the details of the new link submission. This email contains a direct link to the control center page to manage this link submission.
There you can edit, authorize, reject or otherwise manage this link, including sending out a response email that notifies your link partner of the status of his link submission.
The status of the link (response status and outcome) is displayed in the control panel, and you of course you can sort the display in any way you wish, for example to see all who haven't replied yet, or for example, those who have replied and wish not to be ever contacted again (it happens!).
The total integration of ALEGE-CM makes it easy to keep track of every single transaction. For example, sites that have indicated that they don't want to ever be contacted again will automatically be filtered from all future search results, whereas those that just didn't want to engage with that particular site that you proposed, stay in the running for other linking campaigns for any of your other sites. On the other hand, sites that have responded positively to a link exchange may make preferred link partners when you search for links for another of your sites.
The interface is extremely well thought out using experience that comes from many years of manual link hunting. Whenever the status of a link or link partner changes, all you need to do is click the corresponding checkbox to indicate the status. We are confident that we've covered all possible situations, but if we haven't, you can be assured that the software can easily be extended for future extensions and modifications.
Sites that haven't responded within the temporary link duration will receive an automatic nagging email 24 hours (or any time period that you define) before their link expires. If there is still no response, the link will simply expire. You can specify in the CM interface whether you want to send another email, even after the link has expired. You can define whether unresponsive sites are globally removed from the pool and excluded from future link partner search results.
Constant Flow Design
The "constant-flow" design of the CM gives you the choice to work on any aspect of your linking campaigns at any time. No more step 1, step 2, ... step 37 that you MUST finish before the form forgets what you were doing. Feel like searching for some new sites? No problem, increase the pool. Feel like fine-tuning the contact or link information you possess on potential link partners? You can! Feel like sending out some new solicitations? Sure thing, any time.
Automatic reciprocal link checker.
CM also comes with an automatic reciprocal link checker, that ensures that the reciprocal links to your sites are still there. It will access the URL that contains your link and detect whether your link is still present at this URL. For links in your database where the reciprocal link couldn't be found, it will change the status accordingly ("reciprocal link not found by automatic means") and you can then take appropriate action. For example, you may want to manually look for the reciprocating link, and you may in fact find it, but on a different page because the linking site's URL has changed. There are a number of reasons why a reciprocal link may not be detectable by automatic means, and CM makes the manual updating of this information a breeze!
You can invoke the reciprocal link checker manually or set it to run under defined circumstances. For example, you could always have it check the reciprocal link of new link submissions and include the result of this automatic check when you first get an email notice about a new link submission.
User management system
ALEGE-CM gives your link partners the ability to alter their link text and the location of the reciprocal link by using the username/password that was first assigned to them in the initial solicitation email. Of course you once again get an email notice of this change, and as usual you can now accept, edit, and reject the alteration, and automatically email your link partner advising him of the outcome of his link editing request.
Email tracking
All correspondence between CM and your link partners is logged and stored in full and can easily be retrieved for reference. It is even possible to lodge mock-correspondence if you had phone communications or communicated with your link partners by other means that can't be tracked via CM. Simply create a mock-entry with the appropriate date and content details, and you can continue to fully track the campaign even though parts of it were negotiated outside CM!
